Nah, he finished his class up, had two weeks off, and we're back this coming weekend.

Meanwhile, I've been working on turning while heeling in plowed parking lots (getting better), experiencing snow plows (slight improvement), and kitty tolerance (they're practically besties!)

I'm also trying to get him to lift up his "hoof" when he gets tangled in his leash - he's almost as graceful as his mom! icon_wink.gif

Oh, and one thing we did a while back, when he's in "down" position, I "shoot" him with my finger and say "bang" (that was before the NY legislature made that illegal) ( icon_rolleyes.gif ) and he flops over onto his side. NOW when he's in "dead" position, I say "you're dead" and he rolls over onto his back. icon_biggrin.gif Or at least onto his other side.

My husband says I should have taught that "you're dead" command as "Shatner." icon_lol.gif

    Here are Dr. Yin's directions.

    Never a dull moment. . .

(pssstttt Kris.... did they only outlaw pointing your finger and saying "Bang! You're dead" upstate? That particular law hasn't made it downstate yet! rotfl.gif)

Glad to see that progress is ongoing!
I taught Logan and then Chase 'You're dead'. Kids loved it but with little tiny squeaky voice the darn dogs just would 'die' icon_lol.gif

What cue are you using to get him to lift his feet up? Straight curiosity on my part. I have taught all of the dogs including the current duo to 'lift' when I wanted to wipe their feet. It's rather funny watching Madison (certainly the brighter of the two) pick up one foot - offer it. Pick up the second when I'm done with the first. She gets confused at times and will pick up random feet - generally the opposite side to the one I am working on. icon_smile.gif

I am currently trying to teach these guys to 'pick up your toys'. The point is for them to put them in the basket. We need work. For every toy Maddie puts back she pulls out another. Dawson just doesn't see the point. icon_lol.gif

Sara - THAT's what we should have used as a cue - "he's dead, Jim" rotfl.gif

And no, they haven't quite outlawed that YET - though my husband pointed out a news article the other day where a little kid was suspended from school for doing just that. icon_rolleyes.gif

And if Action Andy has his way, it won't be long. . .

K-9, I've been patting the leg I want him to pick up and telling him "hoof."

I've always suspected he was part pony. icon_wink.gif

I tried teaching our girls that, but finally gave up. My DH says our house looks like we have a bunch of kids with all the toys all over. I pick them up when I vacuum but isn't five minutes later that they are all back out, not being played with either, they just don't want them in the basket.
