It is not slow for me at home. It is at work, but at work I am stuck with IE, and I think the security programs also slow things down. At home I use FF or Chrome.

Which browser and version are you using?
IE is slow for me. So much so, that I hardly ever use it at all unless I need to test something. I don't know why it has become so unusable for me, but I give it the stink eye anytime I launch it
Let me know the browser and I will test it and see what's going on

I use Firefox. We live in the country and have a sprint air card. they just upgraded our tower and we are running 60 -80% on average and that is excellent (has been 10-40%). It took well over five minutes just to get to this screen from the email link I received.
thank you for investigating.

I've tested in both FF and IE this morning and so far have not experienced any slowness. If it is still slow on your end, try deleting your cookies and cache and try again. Let us know if you continue to have problems or use another browser if you can.

I took your suggestions, cleared everything out, and it is still quite slow. As everything plays out in the lower left hand corner, it all seems to do with ads and advertising.
I think most serious users of this site would be willing to go back to a premium subscription that avoided advertising, surveys, and offered a faster version. In the real world, that is probably not lucrative enough, but a nice thought anyway.
thank you,
Rose

The site sits and spins, does not load. When it loads, if I click on something I get something else. For example, after I finally got my zmail to open, I went to mark 2 messages as read. It did not. Instead, I was taken to the splash page. I clicked on the drop down menu by my user name. I was repeatedly taken off site to the page of the ad located halfway down the splash page. Those are just a couple examples.
I have been getting 500 errors out the wazoo.
Do you still think it's our cookies?

I'm a serious user of this site and use Firefox as my browser and their add-on Adblock Plus ~ Adblock Plus blocks all popups and advertising on this site and everywhere else!

Same here, Sue. I am still getting 500 errors here and there. I just tried to open a recipe under the reviews, and was taken to back to the top of the page.....twice. An attempt to get to the CS forum took me to instructions on hwo to bake spaghetti squash.....hmmmm....maybe that's telling me something(?). LOL! It's as if everything I click on somehow interprets my request as being a "random request" button or something.

I'm glad to know there is a technical problem and it is being addressed. I will clear out my cookies, cache and then be patient! I love this site so I'll give it a chance
