I find mine here where they have all the packages of Mexican spices. I'm not sure where you are located, but our grocery stores here have a section with a wide variety.
Here are a few links to purchase online.

The original recipe calls for the bulk of the patties be made of corn masa. I'm experimenting with a more low-cal version of my mother's [more delicious] full-fat routine.
I'll be using the whole egg (I never liked to waste food) and baking powder for extra fluffy lightness. Instead of frying in a pan of oil, I'm attempting the "pancake" technique. Non-stick spray is all I use!
I have my own mole recipe, but a bit upset about the tough nopalitos sold at the grocer. I'd cut my own batch, but it's a lot of work to clean them

Hi Chef #1391385,
Welcome to RZ, I see you've just joined. We are glad you are enjoying using RZ and hopefully getting some good traffic to your site. But can you do me a favor? We frown upon users plugging their own sites in the forums…it isn't really us, it is the members who get upset and feel like they are being spammed. Plug your blog all your want from your About Me page, but not here in the forums. Just wanted to let you know our guidelines.
Thanks.

Welcome to all the Newbies! We are thrilled to have you!
BTW- If there is a Latin Market in your town or nearby, you can find this and many other wonderful items that may not be available elsewhere!

PS... If your Walmart carries Fiesta spices you can look there for the Shrimp Powder... You might find it on the ethnic aisle. Many of their spices are in plastic bags that hang from a hook.....

I was searching on the internet for the shrimp patty recipe and found this site and the recipe. Thank you, thank you, for posting the link. My mom used to make the pattys every year. She is very sick now and she can not remember the recipe. I was hoping so much to find it in the internet since we wanted to make some for mom during Lent. It was a tradition mom has had with us but now she can't cook and doesn't remember what she did. The recipe is exactly what she used. Thank you!
