Being the month of Valentine's, this month's topic shall be dedicated to our hearts!
One of the main issues that often go along with diabetes is the so called diabetic heart disease. This term refers to different kinds of heart diseases that can be caused or worsened by diabetes.

Our thread now is about what we can do. Valentine's is the month of hearts and lovers, so what better than giving some love to our own hearts or those of our diabetic loved ones?
Living diabetes friendly and heart healthy is easy and delicious.
Think of all kinds of berries which are low in sugar but high in heart protecting antioxidants, healthy yummy fats like salmon, flax seed oil, olive oil, good proteins from lean meat, fish and all kinds of legumes, low-carb vegetables and greens and hearty full grains like brown rice, buckwheat, quinoa, amaranth, and diabetes friendly whole grain bread like rye sourdough bread.

Maybe share impressions of the walk you take after your meal, too - enjoying the winter air and the first hint of spring raising its head.

3) Make the recipe within the month time period, but we will keep the thread open a couple of days beyond the end of the month in case you want to finish a last minute recipe up.
4) Post your review to the recipe page, and picture if you have taken one.
5) Report back to this thread that you have made and reviewed the recipe you tagged, including the recipe name, recipe number, posting chefs name. Post the photo too, as we love seeing your photos and this just makes adds to the fun.
