It's with great joy that I announce rotfl.gifrotfl.gif that we now see the 2011 edition of Australian Masterchef!!

So, Pat, please don't tell me who wins! icon_wink.gif

I know it's about 2 yrs old, but to us it's new! Sooo exciting! It's just started, actually.

It's on at 6pm -- a rather awkward time in summer -- so I do our dinner earlier so that it's in the warming oven before 6pm! Don't want to cook while it's on!

The problem is that one of these days the UK's "Professional Masterchef" will also be on (on another channel) and that is also so interesting. Then I still watch "Come Dine with Me".

I was flabbergasted 2 nights ago at one of the guests -- a rather hefty (shall I say fat??) woman, who not only showed enormous cleavage, but wore MINI dresses ... with those backside and thighs ... icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_lol.gif One can only think she has a different view of herself than the average person watching the show! icon_wink.gif

This is on only 4 nights per week (frustration).

I usually eat in front of the TV when this is on. Somehow it's nice to watch a food program while eating! icon_lol.gif

What amazed me last week was a challenge during which they first had to make a dish within 10 minutes, then were weeded out, and the rest had to make a dish within 15 minutes!! Yikes, bad for my nerves!! icon_eek.gif icon_lol.gif

Sometimes I find Austr. Masterchef just so unfair when it comes to sending people home.

In last night's episode one of the stars of the show (so far) was sent home because he could not quite come up to scratch in duplicating the most intricate (slightly silly) dessert creation of a Chinese chef.

This guy is miles better than many of the 17 contestants now remaining. He happens not to like desserts, and is not very interested in desserts and pastries.

He and 2 girls, in a final-challenge cook-off, really battled with the wayyyy-out Chinese creation consisting of about 4 or 5 wildly different components.

I found it totally unacceptable that he was sent home because of this dessert challenge. Ouch.
