When the recipe calls for 16 ounces Muir Glen tomatoes, not sure what that means. It calls for specifically paste, crushed, and diced tomatoes. What tomatoes come in a 16 ounce can? I would like to make this soup today. Thank you for your help.

24 ounces v- 8 vegetable juice
6 ounces muir glen tomato paste
28 ounces muir glen crushed tomatoes
16 ounces muir glen tomatoes
16 ounces chicken broth

Personally, I'd just ignore that ingredient. I suspect that's a typo the contributor didn't catch, as there are already lots of tomato products listed. To be sure, you'll have to use the Contact This Chef link to ask. It appears when you hover over the person's name.

Muir Glen is a brand of organic canned tomatoes. They are the favorite brand of the Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen folks. They sell diced, crushed and sauce in 16 ounce cans.

The Muir Glen products in my pantry are 14.5 ounces. I would just ignore that ingredient or use an extra 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes, but I think there are ample tomato products in the recipe already.
By the way, their fire roasted tomatoes are what I would recommend. They also make a killer pizza sauce.

So since it calls for diced and crushed, maybe the word sauce was left out on the ingredient. I probably will leave it out unless I hear from the chef. Thank you for your help.
