    i do not have powdered ranch dressing packages can i use hidden valley ranch salad dressing ?

    I'm not sure how the additional ingredients in the bottled dressing would work. Take a look at the above recipe - 1 tbl of it is equivalent to a packet of the dry dressing mix. I myself would just add a bit of the herbs and spices shown, omit the salt, and I think I'd omit the buttermilk powder. You can always add some sour cream to the soup, if you want.

    You can leave it out. My recipe is similar but had refried beans & does not include ranch dressing.

    You can use ground beef or chicken.
