    well, tisanes have their use in our kitchens for medical purposes.

    I used to gently sponge all my babies in their 'delicate' areas with a chamomile tisane. This is also excellent as an eye wash if you get red eye.

    Tilio is used to soothe a baby's tummy pain and to induce gentle sleep.

    Faskomilo (sage) tea good for menstrual pain.

    Diosmo (spearmint) tisane for tummy aches.

    Tsai tou vounou just smells divine and is a pleasure to drink. I'm sure it probably relieves upset tummies, too.

    There are probably more herbal concoctions, but these are the ones I'm familiar with (to some extent).

    To add to Eve's list, here are some other herbs and their uses:-

    Sambouko (Elderflower) - sore throat, coughs and cold
    Tsouknida (Stinging Nettle) - gout
    Vissino (wild cherry)/cherry stems - diuretic
