FEBRUARY'S SUN and SPICE EVENTGo to page 1, 2, 3 ... 96, 97, 98 Next Page >>
Welcome to February’s Sun & Spice Event in the NA/ME Forum. This event is a collaboration of the Vegetarian and the North Africa/Middle East Forums. We are so pleased to have you join us and we hope that you will have fun with the event and challenges that are offered during this month of play. You will be trying some very tasty foods from both of these forums. Have no fear, there is no need to become strictly vegetarian for the month, the recipes that you choose for this event cannot contain any meat or meat products (including chicken or beef broth). Both cuisine's have sides, appetizers, desserts and beverages as well as main recipes that will qualify here. To make this event easier for everyone, we have created two major cookbooks, one representing each forum that you can choose your tags from. You may also find recipe choices from outside of the cookbooks, if you prefer. Vegetarian NA/ME Recipes and Veggie Swap, Veggie Swap Cookbook continued Opening day is Friday February 1 You are required to choose 2 recipes per tag, one from the Vegetarian cuisine and a meat free recipe from the NA/ME cuisine. * Please note* the two recipes you choose to tag do not need to be from the same person. You are not limited to 2 recipes per tag if you tag more than two recipes at one time please remember that there must be one from each forum's cuisine. For example, tagging 3 recipes in the vegetarian cuisine requires you to tag 3 recipes in the NA/ME cuisine. You will find an overlap of cuisines in the Vegetarian cookbook so you may find both of your recipes in that one book but if so please do make sure that the na/me recipe states the region or country of it's origin in North Africa or Middle East or says that it was inspired from the na/me region or the name of the recipe name is given in it's original form. Example: Middle Eastern Pilaff North African Bulgar Stuffed Baby Eggplant Libyan Cheese Dip Grilled Fig and Orange Blossom Yogurt Sundaes (This Middle Eastern inspired sundae...) Kaak Lebi Hilw (Orange and Cumin Biscuits) *Please* be sure to include which cuisine you have tagged a recipe from, when posting your choices. Tagging form is as follows: Annacia will tag: Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie With Polenta Crust #469661 by Lalaloula (Veggie Forum) Tonight's Couscous #474364 by Elmotoo (NA/ME Forum) Your post will look like this to you before you hit the post button: (your name) will tag: RecipeX#469661 #469661 (without the X) by recipe owner (Veggie forum) RecipeX#474364 #474364 (without the X) by recipe owner (NA/ME forum) All tagged recipes must be completed and reported by midnight Feb 28th, 2013 in this thread. Please be sure to include which forum type you have tagged a recipe from. They can be very hard to tell apart at times. Players Participation Banner:

PRIME INGREDIENT CHALLENGE An optional side game that you may wish to participate in during the Sun and Spice Event is the "Prime Ingredient Challenge". For this challenge you are only required to make one tag, from either the NA/ME Forum or the Vegetarian Forum. Every three days, starting on Feb. 1st, we will post on page 1 of this event the new Prime Ingredient to be used will be listed. The object of the game is to find a recipe that contains the prime ingredient in either NA/ME or the Vegetarian Forum and claim it as a Prime Ingredient Tag in your post. *Please note* that the ingredients for the prime challenge may be used at any time during the Sun and Spice Event, but may only be used in the Prime Ingredient Challenge during the three days that it is listed in bold on page 1. All recipes for the Prime ingredient Challenge must be completed by Feb. 28th. Tagging Example: Feb. 1st - 1st Prime Ingredient = Carrots (treasure found) Elmootoo, Recipe#xxxxxx xxxxxx (Prime Ingredient Challenge - Carrots) The players who complete all their Prime Ingredient Tags will receive a special banner for their AM page. ____________________________________________________________ PRIME INGREDIENT TAGS: Feb 23rd - 7 & 8th P.I. = TEA / COFFEE / SALT Annacia Cookgirl Cardamom Coffee #407505 by littlemafia (tea/coffee) Dr. Jenny: Lalaloula: Life is Good: Nif: Rita: Satyne Moroccan Mint Tea #83186 by Rita~ (NA/ME forum) Sharon123 Sheepdoc Tangerine and Avocado Salad #58474 by Rita~ (Avocado) Studentchef: Umm Binat Last edited by Annacia on Wed Feb 27, 2013 7:16 pm, edited 71 times in total
BONUS TREASURE HUNT Periodically, during the event, a small vegetable icon (treasure found) will appear somewhere at no certain time or place. Let us know when you see one! Tell us where you saw it and at what time (Food time) because they may or may not stick around! The 3 people who spot the most Treasures will win 3 reviews (treasure found) of their recipes, one from each of your hosts which will be made within 1 month of the close of the game. The recipes chosen will be at the discretion of the hosts. ____________________________________________________________ FOUND TREASURES: Last edited by Annacia on Thu Feb 28, 2013 8:15 am, edited 20 times in total Annacia wrote:
