Galatopita is a wonderful and classic greek dessert. This video very simply explains the ins and outs of this recipe. It comes out sort of like a baked custard.

Oh, gosh, I remember making this - maybe 25 years ago??? I was into a very heavy Greek recipe phase then, lot of things with phyllo and feta. Not that I don't still like it, but generally phyllo takes a bit more effort than I am willing to put into things! Ah, for simpler times!

It would be nice if there was more than one recipe for it in the db.

Galaktoboureko is a similar dish, but with a phyllo crust and slightly different flavoring.

If you never tried it before I highly recommended, it's very tasty and there is variety of fillings you can use.

Actually, it's not just the phyllo crust that makes galaktoboureko different from galatopita. Galaktoboureko also gets a syrup poured over which makes it VERY sweet. Galatopita is a very nice, plain, baked custard.
