Now that the book has been out a while, it seems pretty disappointing for a lot of cooks who have purchased it.
The reviews are mostly negative. I'll always allow for a little operator error, but the comments that note most of the recipes in the book came with the original manual, and that they aren't using common ingredients or geared toward the average family's tastes, are pretty convincing to me.

What it means by "criss-cross" the racks is, put the short one on top of the tall one so the legs of the short one DO fall between the grates of the tall one to create the "criss-cross" which keeps small foods like fish sticks or chicken nuggets from falling through.

Hi darrellnkay!
Thanks for clarifying that for our SuperWave users. What kind of recipes do you like to use yours for? Have you thought about posting any of them here?

I have only had my oven for about a week but so far I haven't cooked a meal without using it. The first thing I made in it was frozen pork chops seasoned with salt, pepper, & garlic salt. It took them about 45 min from freezer to table (instead of the 20-30 the book states) because I made 8 chops & used both racks. My family raved about how good they were. The next day I did frozen bone-in/skin-on chicken legs & thighs, 8 of each one. From freezer to table took about 30 min. I have a family of 6 & the oven is perfect for families of 4 & under. I can still do great things with it but since I make more food, it just takes me a bit longer than someone that would make 2-4 portions. I seasoned the legs & thighs with salt & pepper & placed them on the racks, turning them halfway through. The food on the bottom rack takes longer, in my experience, than the food on the top, since the juices from the top rack runs onto the food on the bottom rack, which I think makes it take longer for the bottom foods to reach temp. I also have to take the food off the top rack when its done & move the food from the bottom to the top, or take out the tall rack & the extender so the heat is closer to the food on the bottom so it gets the crispy yummy brownness of the food on the top rack. Needless to say, it was the best chicken we have ever had. It tasted like fried chicken but had absolutely no breading or extra oil added to it. My husband raved & raved about it. I did the cranberry pork loin out of the recipe book that came with the oven. It was the best pork we've ever eaten. The 5 lb loin was all but gone by the end of the meal. I also have done a pork roast which took about 2 1/2-3 hrs to test done with my meat thermometer because it was frozen solid when I put it in. I peeled & cut carrots in sticks that I had tossed in olive oil & salt & pepper & threw them it with the roast for the last 20 or so min & again the meat was the juiciest most flavorful meat we've ever eaten & the carrots were awesome. I just love this oven so far & am looking forward to trying new recipes & ideas!

Wow! That is a really great review. I can't believe all that stuff was frozen solid! I don't know how many times I've thought I had everything for a recipe in the fridge, only to find out at the last minute that the meat is still in the freezer.
Thanks for taking the time to tell us all about your experience with the oven. I know this is just the kind of post that will help folks decide when they're considering a purchase.

I agree, The Super Wave is quite amazing. I do, however, must say you need the accessorry kit. The best being the grilling pan. It will change your life. It does the 1" steak perfect in 10 min. and I even did a very thin one in exactly 5 min. and it was perfect. I assume this woll do the same on porl chops, etc. Also the wire basket does air french fries to a T as well as, fish, instead of crossing the racks. My problem is I still can't find out how or how long to cook veggies with a whole chicken or if to use the extender on a 6 lb.chicken? So much is left out of the books..

Hi Frenzel!
Thanks for the tip on the accessory kit. You never know with those things. Sometimes we buy a gadget and all the accessories for it, and then never once use them. Then the next gadget we won't buy it, and end up making another trip to the store or pining over it for years.
It's been 15 years and I'm still collecting some of the Kitchenaid accessories.

Hi this is just to tell you to put the round rack on the bottom and the rack with the longer legs on top. Here is a recipe
First do this small rack spray with no stick spray and do with the larger rack with the long legs
chicken
Put egg and a little oil and spices into a pie tin and beat them now roll the chicken in the egg then in bread crumbs and add spices to the crumbs set aside on waxed paper
for potatoes use a zip lock small pour in olive oil and parsley, pepper and salt. Now wash the potatoes and quarter Put into zip lock and seal and shake so the potatoes are covered
Now put the small rack in the oven and reach into the bag of potatoes and place on the lower rack
Now place the long leg rack and place the chicken pieces on top
Put on the lid and lift the handle set for 400 degrees and touch the chicken pieces button or set for 20 minutes and click start and thats it
