Thanks so much. I did design the centerpiece--I used supermarket flowers and added the asparagus and artichokes on wooden skewers. The container is an old soup tureen that I had in the house.

NiteOwl. your table is stunning! Is the mat under your centerpiece beaded? It seems like I can see a hint of sparkle in one of the photos.
I am totally drooling over your silverware. I love the swirling pattern and the china is just gorgeous. Beautiful table!

Thanks, Dreamgoddess. It's a real compliment coming from you! The mat is beaded -- I found it a couple of years ago at T J Maxx (gotta love those finds....) and the silver was my mother's.

Thanks so much. I actually got the idea to use the vegetables from a centerpiece I saw on-line so I can't take all the credit!

I've always wanted to use some type of vegetables in a centerpiece like you did. I'm just wondering how long your centerpiece lasted? Or did you take it all apart as soon as Thanksgiving was over? I like the idea of using them on skewers.

I'm trying to remember now how long it lasted....I think it stayed pretty nice through the weekend. I lined the tureen with floral foam and tried to keep it wet. The flowers and asparagus went right into the foam and I used bamboo skewers for the artichokes. I bet if you store the centerpiece in the fridge when not in use, (between meals and overnight) it would keep better. I'd love to see what you come up with!
