I've been posting recipes on Food.com for a couple of weeks now, and I've decided that the auto-correct for the ingredient list was intentionally designed to make it impossible to post a recipe as a person intends.
Example: I have a Beefy Roast Potato recipe which I posted here the other day. One of the ingredients is a garlic-infused canola oil I posted earlier under the title "Panini Oil" as that is my usual use for it. No matter how many times I have tried, it ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to let me post it in satisfactory manner. I tried to simply post the link... the system refuses to recognize the ingredient. I tried to post it as "Panini Oil" (recipe link) in parenthesis... it posts it as "panini oil (Panini Oil)", making me look like an idiot who doesn't realize I'm repeating myself (repeating myself).

I tried to go basic and called it "garlic-infused oil", which the system INSISTS has to be "garlic-infused OLIVE oil" (it's not... it's canola, and I should know because it's MY RECIPE!)
This really isn't that difficult. I have a BA in English. I also have an Associates in Culinary Arts. I have my Certified Culinarian through AFC. I really do know how to write a recipe, but the auto-correct for the site must be a kind of preview of coming attractions for the netherworld... something like Dante's Eighth Circle of Hell for foodies.
PLEASE! Can anyone who has any control over this do SOMETHING??? ANYTHING???
There's more than 50 iterations of oil (see:
http://www.food.com/ingredient-finder/all/oil) and quite a few under garlic oil (see:
http://www.food.com/ingredient-finder/all/garlic-oil) in food.com's db. When one enters a recipe, the ingredients in the db are the choices. If your chosen ingredient is not in the db, you won't be able to use it easily in your recipe submission.
You can always request that yet another version of oil be added in the Customer Support forum or do what I do, which is to use something already in the ingredients db and type the ingredient thusly :
garlic-flavored vegetable oil (garlic-infused canola oil preferred or my recipe #whatever-the-number-is)
