    3 Ingredient Chewy Macaroons
I would like to know what's "hold" those cookies as a unit, and why we need to bake them in the oven,( I am asking because they contain only milk and coconuts flakes)

There's a hidden ingredient - the sweetened condensed milk has an enormous amount of sugar in it. Baking these dries the water out of the milk and caramelizes the sugar, which binds the coconut flakes together.
