Watermarks

When a chef adds a watermark to one of his/her photos, it is for more than just protection. It is a statement that the chef has created a recipe and a photo of that recipe that he/she is proud of. We do not mind others using our photos. But when the photo is used without acknowledgement of the work put into it, it is more than theft, it is a slap in our face.

If the watermark used is too large and obscures the photo, I can understand that it should not be included. However, putting a small identifying mark in the photo does not detract from the photo and allows us to identify our work when others try to use it without our knowledge on Food.com or other websites.
