I made Omani Spice Mix. I used it to season some cauliflower and sweet potatoes that I was roasting. I also stirred some into some rice. I added chicken and the roasted vegetables. Delicious! It also smelled fantastic while roasting.

Clearly, my dinner invitation got lost in the mail. If there are leftovers I could be there by lunch!
That looks delicious hon. Excellent use of the spice mix.

I want to try that spice mix but most of my stash is in Toronto.
Imagine I forgot to bring cumin and there is no black pepper to be found in the house. It has made for some amazing taste discoveries.

Peace back to you Annacia. I'm sure Omani cuisine has a spicer infusion due to all the intermarriages.

Plus sorry to say but in Oman they would never use wine vinegar which is forbidden for Muslims so in no way would be authentic.

To each their own and we don't ask that recipes be fully authentic in every aspect. I would also imagine that there are people living in Muslin country's who do enjoy a bit of wine.

Yes I know I just mean it doesn't seem like it would be Omani in my opinion.

I am now on a PC. The other recipe I was referring to is the same but doesn't include the koftas, which is what Sharon implied. Silly me.

then perhaps Sharon could edit the wine vinegar out of the recipe & all will be excellent? Looks like a yummy salad.
