My husband is in the midst of a 10 day bland diet for gastritis that is not associated with h. pylori. He is also coughing up a storm foollowing a terrible sore throat.
I am look for ideas that align with a diet for gastritis. Seems everything I know how to do uses at least one of the ingedients that is forbidden.
Here is the list of things to avoid:
•Fatty dairy foods, such as whipped cream or high-fat ice cream
•Strong cheeses, such as bleu or Roquefort
•Raw vegetables
•Vegetables that make you gassy, such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, green peppers, and corn
•Fresh berries and other fresh fruit
•Dried fruit
•Whole-grain or bran cereals
•Whole-grain breads, crackers, or pasta
•Pickles, sauerkraut, and similar foods
•Spices, such as hot pepper and garlic
•Foods with a lot of sugar or honey in them
•Seeds and nuts
•Highly seasoned cured or smoked meats and fish
•Fried foods

Citrus and chocolate were also on his doctor's list and I have seen onions and the list, as well.
So, please share your most creative and flavorful recipes and modifications that might help us. Even ideas that aren't that flavorful would be great.
