We know there are lots of coconuts in the Caribbean,
so I thought I would look and see what I could find to interest you on this subject. I did buy some and often substitute butter or regular oil with this; really nice to make your fried eggs;
it does have a pleasant wee taste of coconut.
The lastest craze and super product seems to be coconut oil.
Have you heard about it?
Natural coconut oil is nature's perfect food.
Unlike the hydrogenated versions found in processed food,
this uniquely curative elixir has been show to have countless health benefits.
Coconut oil is, once again, asserting its superiority
over all other dietary oils.
Due to its popularity, a number of inferior Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) products are proliferating.
I find the best place to find a good quality Coconut oil is at the health food store; you might spend a bit more, but you will get your money’s worth.
The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, alzeimer, diabetes, and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits ofcoconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc. For some people, coconut oil has proven to slow the progression of Alzheimer's and may have even prevented it.
