I love the idea! I just can't justify the price when my PC is 3 feet from the kitchen counter.

I agree about the price, but for those whose "computer room" is no where near their kitchen (and don't own an iPad, smart phone or a Kindle).....
Like everything else, I suppose the price will come down by next Christmas
I just thought it was interesting

Oh it is Dee. It's neat and not obtrusive. I'd love to have one if I were just one room away.

Naw. I keep hard copies in plastic sleeves, can't see the expense of another electronic device that will go extinct in 2 years. Then again, I am no electronics buff...

It sounds reasonable, although personally I'd rather buy a generic Android tablet that's cheaper and you could do all the same stuff on apart from using their software, which probably isn't a big deal if you just mainly use web based sites like here.
One thing I don't like a lot about those 'purpose built' devices is that if it turns out to be a flop, they go bankrupt and their servers go offline it might end up useless.

I don't have a smart phone, Ipad, applet, droid, etc. I have 2 laptops. One stays in my office, the other goes with me. Besides I never really follow recipes; if I need to I scribble on a piece of paper.
I always have my day planner, pen, pencil, paper, GPS in my car; and my laptop. Nothing else is needed for me. Even when I had a fancy phone with work; I never used any of those apps and features. I carry my camera with me 24/7; well, I try to. My I'm a taker of things, places, etc. So no camera on my phone as well.
Whatever happened to the handed down recipes, and the cookbooks; I appreciate electronics; but think there is just way too much these days.
