    Verenika With Ham Gravy
How many adults will this recipe serve as the main course? I believe the recipe makes 30 dumplings so how many dumplings would each person normally eat?
    Thanks, Charlie

I would suppose it would depend on how hungry you are. My guess would be 4-6 people as a main course......maybe it can be stretched for 8 people if there are a lot of side dishes. icon_confused.gif

I'd guess around 6 servings - these are pretty big dumplings, since you are using a 4 in round cutter. I make smaller dumplings, maybe 2 1/2 in or so across, and I figure on about 6 per person of those.

If you do make them, please do include the number of servings you got out of the recipe - that would be of great help to others.

Thanks for both of the responces. Each adult had on the average of 5 of the 4 inch ones. One of my guests (75 years old) mother used to make them. He said mine were better than "Bread Basket" in Newton, Ks. Especially the ham gravy. I could have gotten the dry curd cottage cheese at Wild Oats but it would have been a long trip so I washed regular cottage cheese and wrung out the moisture. If you do this I would reccomend you cut down on the amount of egg so it remains firm.
