TNPTP is working out retrenchment packages

No, sorry to hear it.
TNPTP had to lookup the word "Retrenchment" to be sure of its definition.
"Retrenchment is something akin to downsizing. When a company or government goes through retrenchment, it reduces outgoing money or expenditures or redirects focus in an attempt to become more financially solvent. Many companies that are being pressured by stockholders or have had flagging profit reports may resort to retrenchment to shore up their operations and make them more profitable. Although retrenchment is most often used in countries throughout the world to refer to layoffs, it can also label the more general tactic of cutting back and downsizing."

No, I've never had one, but I'm gald that you're enjoying it!!!
lol, I'm often surprised at how terminology differs between countries, how I'll use a phrase (or you guys will), that seems so commonplace it never occurs to you that others wont be familiar with it!!! Yes, in this case, its lay-offs, miners, and our labouring crew down there, they will all be paid off since this leg of the project has come to an end. Horrible time of year for it but is there ever a good time. Plus its scary stuff legal-wise, very easy for the employer not to get it 100% right, no matter how careful you are, and face legal action
TNPTP increasingly does not enjoy endless admin work
