Another suggestion for printing gift tags or jar labels. Go to Avery.com and look at their "Design & Print" option. You choose the size label or business card product and then choose the "image" you want from their holiday clip art. I just printed 3 pages of gift tag labels for their product #15660 with different images in about 15 minutes. Just thought I would share.

I took Marbled Cinnamon Sugar Quick Bread (a family favourite at my house) and turned it into a "gift bag" for my mother.
I will put it with a new loaf pan and some specialty coffees and teas and Xmas tea towels.
Mom is older now and doesn't enjoy cooking much so she loves it when I put these things together for her and she merely adds the wet ingredients and bakes.

I'm going to make round "ball" cookies and candies. Bourbon balls, mexican wedding balls, mounds balls, butterfinger balls, 2 or 3 kinds of truffles, date and nut balls. If I find more, i'll make them. Gold and silver small cupcake liners, white tissue in a white box, gold and silver ribbons.
Some brownie mix in a Christmas pillowslip. Working on gumbo soup mix in a jar. We'll see about that one.
I bought fabric for farmers market bags, all in a veggie print. I might not finish these.
The men may get pickles shrimp, pickled susages, and whole grain mustard in a basket with crackers, and a cheese spread.
Some pinecone ornaments, rolled in scented wax, topped with dried apple slices, greens and berries and small bow.
Hope my energy holds out.

Oooooh, scented pinecone, dried apples and berries....what a great idea, I love that. Do you make these yourself? I need to know how to do that, it sounds just lovely!

I dried apples last year, so they are ready. I will melt the wa in a tin can, then scent with fragrance oil. Roll pine cone in wax. Tie a jute loop to hang ornament, top with dried apple slice, greens, and some berries of your choice. Makes a lovely gift for those people who like cabin style, or western decor.

Thanks for the "how to" lesson. I'm sure anyone would love that gift. I suppose I could buy dried apples at the bulk store so I'll have to look into that.

How about making washable grocery shopping bags or tote bags for gifts for Christmas and throughout the year? I am using one of the purchased store bags with straps for a pattern. My fabric stash has all kinds of pretty printed fabric. Think I will put a pocket on the front for flyers, shopping list, coupons, and pen. You could also include a few non-perishable ingredients in the bag, with a few recipes, to complete the gift if the budget permits.
