Classic Bouilabaisse Sauce Taste

Hello,

This holiday season I will be going with a group of friends to a seafood type restaurant. I was thinking of ordering the; Bouillabaisse – 25.95
Lobster tail, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and fish simmered in a classic french bouillabaisse sauce over rice.

My question is what will the classic bouillabaisse sauce taste like?

Further, I do not care for tomatoes and the recipe might include tomatoes and dominate the sauce/taste ?

Any comments would be helpful to my taste buds LOL

I've never heard of a bouillabaisse sauce. Bouillabaisse is basically a seafood stew, fish and crustaceans cooked in a fish/wine stock. There will be tomatoes in it. I've never felt they predominate. but you might.

It will be wonderful. It isn't a sauce, a stew has no sauce, per se, it's a seafood stew. There will be tomato, almost without a doubt, although the classic accompaniment is a dab of rouille made with red chile. Resistance is futile. If you are adamant about tomato, consider other options. Definitely ask the server to find out.

I have over the years acquired a taste for some foods with tomatoes, so if this dish has a slight tomato taste I would still like it. Also, I read about this typical dish comes with a rouille (don't know if this restaurant will have this) which I would like; mayonnaise, lemon flavor.
