Also contains celery and green peppers along with the cabbage and carrots. Has no mayo. Has oil and I think vinegar.
If anyone has the recipe for this kind of cole slaw, I would so appreciate it.
Thanks!!!

If you do a recipe search and then use the Recipe Sifter (under the "Top Recipes": heading on the red navigation bar) to include or exclude specific ingredients, this is what you get. I included celery seed and green peppers, excluded mayonnaise.

Thanks so much. I didnt know how to use that feature on the website. I think I'm gonna go with the oil/vinegar recipe. It seems the most similar to the dish I tried and fell in love with. You all have helped me so very much and I thank you so much!

I use this recipe for cole slaw to go with fish and always for picnic dishes or pot luck dinners. I love it and those who have had it always ask for the recipe. It calls for the vegs to be diced though, not shredded. It's calleed...

This is the cole slaw recipe without mayo that I use which sounds like the one you are looking for. I haven't posted it at food.com because there are so many recipes that are similar.
COLESLAW
Lasts for weeks in refrigerator in a large glass jar. Turn jar occasionally.
SALAD
1 large head cabbage, shredded fine (about 16 cups)
1 Bermuda onion, or red onion, chopped or sliced
1 or 2 carrots, grated
1 green pepper, chopped
1 or 2 ribs celery, chopped (optional)
DRESSING
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard (no more)
1 teaspoon celery seed or celery salt
1 cup white vinegar
2/3 cup Crisco vegetable oil
1. Prepare vegetables and toss to mix in a large bowl or place directly into a large, clean glass jar.
2. Combine sugar, salt, dry mustard, and celery seed in a saucepan. Add vinegar and salad oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. While still hot, pour mixture over the vegetables and toss well to mix.
3. Cool. Refrigerate in a large glass jar for at least four hours or overnight before serving. Stir daily (or lay jar flat on a towel and roll around a couple of times).
VARIATIONS
• Add other chopped vegetables such as cauliflower or broccoli.
• Add 8 slices bacon well cooked, well drained, and crumbled or use bacon to garnish servings.
• Instead of the onion use 12 green onions with tops, thinly sliced.
• Remove the amount of coleslaw desired with a slotted spoon; drain well. Add Miracle Whip salad dressing to taste.
