Yeah, Jac, think I deserve the gadget queen title, after coming home and opening all the boxes I had waiting for me. In fairness though, a LOT are for Christmas gifts, but think DH was a little shocked to see all 4 months of it gathered in one spot Hope you are doing better with the time change. I was up at 3AM today with mine - but then I dropped exhausted into bed at 5:30PM after the time changes I went through.
Laury, so glad you liked your Kindle, you'll only start loving it more all the time, mine is my constant companion.
Just arrived home late afternoon after traveling for TWO days. Had a terrible experiane in San Fransico with a total cancellation of our transfer to home in WA. Then when we went to get the flight rescheduled they told us - oh we'll reroute you through Seattle (An additional 2 hours on top of over 22 hours of travel) then we had to spend the night in Seattle, which they informed us was OUR responsibility - not their's, and then leave for WA the next day at 6AM. Sigh; when I asked the agent why - he said well you shouldn't transfer through SF, where to busy for these small flights and cancel them routinly when the airport gets busy and shuts down runways for weather or such. I informed him I did NOT schedule anything, United - his employer did. Guess I was just do tired to deal with it at that time.

I'm glad that you finally got to where you wanted to be. Sometimes it seems to take forever when traveling although I have never traveled over 20 hours in one day.
I am finally feeling a little bit better. Tom and I had the stomach flu Friday and yesterday. Today I am able to eat. I, however, am having a hard time getting air in my lungs. I am breathing very shallow. I see my doctor Tuesday and I will start exercising after I see her. When every breath I take hurts, it's not the time to exercise.

I went to my doctor today for my normal 2 month check-up. Good news and bad news Good news is I lost 1 pound so weighed 153 today. She was fine with that. Good blood pressure 112/60.. I was coughing and aching a lot today and still am. She feels that I may be coming down with something and asked me to hold off exercising for a couple of days. The bad news is that I may need to take a couple of days to simply resting when I wanted to do things like dusting.
I still want to lose weight but I am willing to do it slowly.

Laury, sorry to hear that you had bad news. Take the time to get better. But down to 153 lb, WOOHOO. How is Tom doing? Hope he is healing well.
Jac, sorry to hear that PT isn't working for you. Hopefully you find something that does work to ease your pain.
Bonnie, happy to see you made it home safe and sound. Even with all the delays. I guess it is time to un-wrap then re-wrap all the presents you had waiting for you.
Me, well I thought things were going a little better, until Friday hit. I was originally waiting around work until it was time to pick my son up from his but, but my girls were hungry so I went to bring them home and had plans to pick him up. Well about 10 minutes before the bus was to come I got a phone call saying he was still at school with the school counselor. So I had to drive almost an hour to pick him up. An argument all the way home because he wouldn't talk.
Then that night got a call from my sister, Chemo had went well. Took 6 hours for it.
Saturday after shopping I finally had a break down. I got drunk, and paid the price. Was up in the middle of the night sick. Oh well the price I pay. Sunday I didn't feel all that well so after a nap after breakfast, I woke to my oldest asking me to do a puzzle with her, so we did that for the rest of the day. That night I tried to talk to my son again, but he shut down, so I had to bombard him with questions. Finally got an answer out of him. He is being bullied, by a kid that he considered his friend for years. The school is worried about his letter he read to his English class, so we are trying to get him into a Child Psychologist now. But they want a Dr to sign his paperwork and we don't have a family Dr. We only see a Nurse Practitioner.
Monday I had to go home sick. I thought maybe my stomach was irritated from the alcohol I drank, but I hear that there were a few kids home sick with the tummy flu too on Monday-Tuesday. Strange that only I got it in my house. Normally my kids have it before me.
Then I got home last night (Tuesday) to a message that my parents called and my sister was hospitalized. We originally thought it was a reaction to Chemo, which my mom had too. They didn't want to call me or have my hubby call me at work because they didn't want me to worry. I called her hubby, he was on-route to the hospital. She has an infection under her extender, so they had to take that out, drain the infection, she has pneumonia too. So she will be in the hospital for a week on a heavy anti-biotic. On top of it all, it is her daughter's birthday, the family pulled together and pulled that off for her. I called and talked to my niece last night too, but she wanted to end the conversation, I think she was waiting to hear from her daddy.
So as of right now I just want the world to stop turning and let me off, pick me up later. I spent over an hour crying last night, sitting at the table trying to put the puzzle together, while I couldn't see. My poor hubby, I think he wanted to comfort me, I seen him walking away, hesitate then keep walking. He knows me, there was nothing he could do, I just had to cry. It didn't hurt my feelings at all, I loved him even more for it.

tasb, I'm so sorry that things are difficult right now. Now when you are already with stress because of your sister's chemo, other stressful things happen. I am sorry that your sister is ill because cancer and other conditions make her body more susceptible to other things like bronchitiis. That must have been so hard for her daughter who had a birthday yesterday. I hope that your stomach feels better soon.
If your family uses a nurse practioner for medical issues explain that to the school. They may understand and only want her/his signature.
Hopefully, today will be quiet and less stressful for you.
Jac, I'm sorry that your shoulder still hurts even with PT treatment.
I am hanging in there. I seem to be extremely tired and things I wanted to do, like dusting and exercising, have been taken from my possibilities.

Called my sister not too lonf ago. She is in isolation for 2 days, will have an open insision for 5 days, anti-biotics for 7 days.
In regards to my son, the psycologist says it is a liability issue. They have to have a dr involvment.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, my family is all here and I'm just waiting around until they start to wake so that I can start in the kitchen without disturbing anyone. We got in late last night so want to give them a chance to get some sleep.
I don't have a lot of time but had to write to all of you.
Laury, do what you're told, everyone has your best at heart and you did great at the docs, I've been afraid to get on the scale myself but went and did a ton of shopping yesterday to finsih up what I needed for Crhsitmas.
tasb - Sweetie, so much on your plate right now, hope it helps to know we are all here praying right along with you. One important thing to know is that NO Nurse Practioner can practice on there own withoug a Doctor overseeing their wor, that doc may not be in the same town - but they ARE there.. So Talk to the NP and tell her what you need., it's HER job to get what you need not yours and you shouldn't have the worry.
You'll never guess what DH did yoseterday - bought me a brand new 2013 Honda Pilot with all the bells and whistles.. He said I need to have a new, dependable and safe car before he retires and as we're looking at that sometime in the next year - it was time. I love it, it's the prettiest pearl white color and drives like a dream.

Bonnie, that's great that your husband bought you a car!!I am enjoying Tom's retirement so much. Yes he does a lot for me but I am trying to do more for him. Once your husband retires next year you will both be able to do whatever you want. I am so glad that you were able to give tasb good news that there is a doctor involved with her family already.
tasb, I hope and pray the stress is leaving you.
I am doing what I am supposed to do. Tomorrow afternoon Tom and I have tickets to see the matinee of A Christmas Carol at our local playhouse. Then we always walk a few blocks to a restaurant for dinner. It's a nice tradition. In order to help myself to do this I won't start exercising again until next Monday at the earliest.

This is an idea I have for January and I am posting it here to see what you think. Would you mind if we stop FFF and open up a new group for dieters? In January, Jasmine is going to do a large part of the newsletter will be about dieting. I want to open up a new group for all those dieters. I feel that if I continue with FFF, new people might feel uncomfortable joining. Right now, I am basicallhy the main host of this forum and I don't know I will be able to do both. Please give me your ideas or suggestions! Thanks!!

Hope all had a great Thanksgiving, we are sure enjoying our family.
Laury, sounds good to me, just please make sure you leave a link here to the new thread.
Fri Nov 23, 2012 11:25 amFood.com Groupie
I guarantee there will be a thread there@ I, also, will be trying to get a host, or two, to help me out. If it's a very large group, I will possibly not be healthy enough to do it all myself.

I received my Christmas present last night from Tom. Usually we buy our gifts for ourselves but Tom saw something which he felt I'd like. I had an incredible back pain and he thought the gift miight help so I received it early. It's a full body massager pad with heat or I can keep the heat off. It fits on my recliner. There are 4 different massage areas I can choose or a full body.

Bonnie, what an awesome gift from you hubby. I bet he was just dieing to give it to you too. Hope you had a great weekend with your family.
Laury, AWE, Tom is such a sweetie, giving up your present early so you could use it now. Also what a great tradition you have going there. Dinner and a show. I am all for another group, hoping we get some more people to chat with.
Me, well I ended up at a walk-in clinic to get my son's paper signed and when we were in line-up go get an appointment he told me that lately he has been extremely thirsty, so alarm bells went off, I also got lab papers for him to do a 2 hour blood sugar test. We do have diabetes in our family, so better to be safe than sorry. I get my sugars checked when ever the health nurse is set up to do it. Then to top it all off our kitten has been missing all weekend. I last seen her Thursday night before hubby put her out. I took a quick walk around the yard looking for her this morning. I really think I am at the point just can't cry anymore. I am sad, as I did help deliver her. Even held down her momma because she was trying to run away.
