Yep, that's it! I went to Whole Foods yesterday and got some. I didn't think it was terribly expensive: $1.2oish each. But I haven't bought "real" yogurt in a long time. As snacks go, though, it's cheaper than anything I could buy on campus. I'm gonna have to try that ice cream, but right now I'm trying to lose weight.

I stumbled onto a method to make gf/cf mac and cheese that we like better than KD.
I had about a cup of leftover tinkyada macaroni noodles cooked the other day so I threw them in a frying pan (we are trying to avoid using the microwave) with 1/4 cup of Super Fantastic Vegan Cashew Cheese (Slices, Sauce or Dip) and tossed it while it cooked until the sauce was dryish and making abit of a crust. It's delish! Unfortuneately my grandson doesn't want to eat anything else now!

Wow! $1.20 is cheap ~ I wish there were a Whole Foods close by here. The health food store that I shopped in, had it "on sale" for $1.99 ~ can't remember what the regular price was. Maybe as more places around here get it, I'll be able to find it cheaper. Anyway, thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Lori,
I'm sorry to hear that. I LOVE Whole Foods! Maybe you can go to their website and request that they build one near you.
I keep hearing that Trader Joe's is really cheap for health food too, but we don't have one in my area.

I wish they would build one near here. The closet one to here is 85 miles away ~ not something I want to do for a one day trip. I've heard that Whole Foods doesn't think there is a market in this area. What do they know?? We have several health food stores that are all locally owned. One of them is very small, their prices are very good, but they don't have a large selection. I'm going to have to ask them about getting the Turtle Mountain products.

Coconut and cashew blends are your best bet for young ones. Careful with "veggie" cheeses like soy, almond, etc...as someone already pointed out, most of those products have casein (milk protein) in them, which he'll probably react to as well. Some kids can tolerate goat or sheep cheese if it's truly just a cow's milk allergy, so you could try those.
Here's one of my favorite cheese-like sauce recipes from my blog, great over root veggies, greens or even just brown rice for a comfort food-type fix:

Thanks
I read your article. I'm going to tell my Dad about that strain. He has RA and would not doubt benefit from a round of it.
I'm curious about using brewers yeast in a recipe because I'd read that it's bitter and not deactivated.

My son is so sensitive to any cows milk product including butter, yogurt, etc. We have recently discovered that he is able to eat any goat milk product without any reaction at all! Our specialty cheese shop has all kinds of goat cheeses besides chèvre, including cheddar, ricotta, Brie, etc. I even used a powdered goat milk in a pumpkin pie and it was awesome! We are so happy with this discovery
