Hi! It's been a while, but I have a quick question I was hoping you could answer.
Does broiling = grilling?
I'm sooooo confused at everything I read, sometimes it sounds like broiling means grilling. But this needs a special pan?
Dinner tonight (fish) is supposed to use the broiler but since I have neither this nor a broiling pan would it be OK to use the grill, or should I BBQ it? Or pan fry?

broil=under the griller in an oven
often you get a pan, with a rack with holes, that fits inside-I would guess that's what they mean

US ovens like Maytag actually have "broil" listed as an oven function ..

Growing up I heard terms like "broiled steak" on TV and used to assume it was "boiled steak" with an American accent. I used to think what are those dudes thinking cooking their steak that way
