been making other bits and bobs but postimage is playing up and refuses to upload unless I close the browser and upload the pic then log on to everything else.. which means one pic at a time and loads of relogging in ...!

Our daughter wanted me to make cheese sausage rolls so I did...

caramalised onions, then made a flour/oil/milk sauce, added mustard, touch of garlic, pepper, sprinkle of oregano... lots of parmesan.. cooked that until thick then allowed to cool. Mixed in loads of grated cheddar and raw red onion... added to puff pastry and brushed with egg.. (note to the wise... if you do this, seal the ends of the rolls, don't try to make them open like you do with a meat sausage roll)

a day later for breakfast I used up a bit of leftover filling to make a cheese, onion and bacon toasty... icon_smile.gif

Gee Steve -- great food and photos. This last one is right up my alley! Very attractive too.

I am very hungry right now, but it is not yet 5 pm here and I have to wait until dinner and not snack -- one of my personal rules! So looking at food photos now makes my tummy rumble!

I spent a few hours in nearest city, Port Elizabeth, today, and had a ghastly little lunch salad -- in a new place in a mall, and the fact that it was so empty at lunchtime should have warned me. The lettuce in the salad was so yucky I had to fish it all out. I did complain, but no-one seemed interested .... That place won't see me again. It's one of the reasons I am so hungry right now!

    thank you all...

I like good food.. and I'm doing my best to take some good pictures...(the lights help no end !)

The last shot of the kebab is me getting near to making something purely for me... other half doesn't like couscous but because its so easy I can make it just for me ! (or in this case for me and the young grandsons)... its not often I get to make something that is just what I want.. well unless its bait for work...but they tend to be "lunchy" and not "luxury".. icon_lol.gif

an idea thats been floating around my head for a while... Actually since I started adding "dried" figs to my breakfast cereal. They aren't quite dried out like dried banana or dried apricots, the insides are a bit like a thick jam and chewy.... anyway they taste a little fermented... and then an idea sprung... add them to some sort of booze and get a fig flavoured drink ?.. no idea if this will work, not done anything like this before.... but I'm doing it now hoping it will be ready by Christmas...

    what do you think ?

Oh what I think is that you need to report back as to if it worked or not because it sounds wonderful to me and I can get dried figs (fresh are impossible to come by 99% of the time and I do so love the fresh).

Now looking forward to a festive Christmas shot of a brandy sniffer with your new liquor along with a detailed description of how it turned out.

I'm half hoping it turns out terrible.. as I might end up very drunk otherwise... LOL !!
