We were watching QVC the other day.....
It's a 4th burner pot. LOVE IT!! With the Holidays coming....many times I have all 5 of my burners running....so this will come in VERY handy! It actually holds 11 cups...and has a strainer inside.

I'm intrigued, Katie....
My 5th burner is just a warming burner. Of course I have two smallish burners and I could totally see a whole pot of spaghetti cooking on the little one instead of taking up the big burners.
But, I really need to see the demo on this pot so I can see what makes it a gadgie I can't live without.
What's the name of it or do you have a link we can follow for it?
ETA: Okay, so I Googled it. LOL I'll check it out!
ETAA: Very cool idea. Veggies, eggs, pasta, or corn on the cob. Yeah, I can definitely see the practicality of this at holiday time.

It looks very much like an updated version of my stainless 3 1/2 QT asparagus steamer (mine doesn't have a pour spout), which I purchased decades ago for about $10.
I have used it for tons of things over the years: boiling potatoes, steaming clams/mussels, sauces, soups, and pasta (never use it for asparagus anymore, prefer that roasted/grilled LOL). I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine!

Oh thanks Tink, interesting - but I'm just not sure about what it does, it says it's for multiple tasks, but what makes it differant from all the other pans I already have?? Hmmm, so many questions.

I just ordered one based on this thread. Well, I went and watched the video too.
It looks like a good way to boil or seam stuff and drain it easily without a colander. I can see myself doing small amounts of pasta for that reason alone.
It isn't very wide, so it doesn't make a big footprint on the stovetop either. That's always a plus if you have 2 big skillets going already.
I wonder how fast it can get here?

That's some really good points Florida - I'll be eager to hear a review from you once you get to try it.

Like FLmelon said, it makes only a small footprint on the stovetop, which is one of the selling points for me.
I have 3 small hobs (one is a warming spot only) and two large (one that goes from large to extra large with the flip of a switch), so during holidays especially, but sometimes an average night, I'll have both large burners in use and I am forced to spend an hour cooking pasta on the little burner.
This pot looks cool because it has the capacity of a large pot with a small footprint. That's achieved by going up instead of out. The water will boil faster and more evenly when the pot doesn't extend further than the heating element does.
Storage of it might be a hassle for me because I don't like anything out on the counters or stove top.

Storage was going to be an issue with me also...but it does fit on my pot rack OK.
I guess all I can say...is I like playing with it LOL. Pasta is a cinch in it! It is also great for keeping broth hot when making risotto!
