    Some people like it warm, I prefer it cold, so I would refrigerate.

    Personally, I think it should be chilled (unless it is in bread pudding which is served warm). Of Course if you prefer your custard warm, then enjoy it warm. You should refrigerate any leftovers.
    Some people like to lay a piece of plastic wrap on the surface of the custard to keep a skin from forming on the surface.
