Hi all! What do you have planned for the weekend? I plan to do my exercises and then sit for the day. I am willing to bet that everyone has something more interesting to do.

Jacqueline, Bonnie and tasb, what's going on?

Thanksgiving long weekend for me. Not many plans in store. A visit to FIL's I guess, hubby's brother is up from the coast, he is hunting, hubby was thinking of joining him one day. Since FIL is a batelor now, I wonder who is going to cook when we head up there. BIL's GF is planning on going hunting when she makes it up here on Sunday.

MIL isn't coming to dinner this year as she is working. I just phoned hubby about 20 minutes ago about taking the turkey out of the freezer.

Probably our biggest plan is to find tires for our vehicles. Both need tires, we thought we had some for mine, but they are the wrong size.

Well I got it, a brand new elliptical trainer. Only $140 plus taxes. We had to go to two different stores, the first store actually called the other one for us, and I put it together myself. I did get my DD to hold something for a few minutes while I tried to figure out who to put together the tension, but in the end I put it together myself. So proud of myself I had to take a picture.

Nice job tasb and awesome price. I just returned from our weekend trip to Tobago and had a nice time - but it was really quite. About the only thing to do was swim in the pool or in the ocean and go out to eat. But it was blue skies and lovely weather. we did enjoy it; but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer than a weekend.

Hi tasb and Bonnie G!! tasb, I'm impressed that you were able to put the machine together by yourself. The fact that one of your daughters had to hold something for you for a few minutes is not important. You showed both your daughters that
you could do it without help, or much help. (I know we have a toolbox but I truly don't know where it is.) icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif

Bonnie G., I'm glad that you got to experience Tobago for a weekend, Do you think it might be busier and more interesting during the week?

For me, I was able to do 2 days of walking and eyedrops. I only have to do 2 more walking days.

Hey everyone, how you all doing? I have had company since Thursday, I am happy to get to be alone in my house tonight, well Spot, the cat is here, but he is no trouble. Shouldn't say it that way because the company wasn't any trouble either, I am just use to being alone. Makes a big difference when there are people in the house.

So glad everyone had a nice weekend. Here's to a great week for all of us.

Good job Laury, sounds like you had a good week. Hope this next one is as good.

On the down side of my weekend away, I gained a pound. Not very happy with that so have to get rid of it this week if I can. But seeing as how it was DH's b-day and went out to dinner even having desert (which we seldom do) I guess it's not to bad.

Soy nds like everyone is busy I am still in the uk with Simon in hospital having had a stroke 10 days ago, he is so so lucky and is recovering well considering where the bleed was, he has no weakness physically and is eating, talking, and moving about o.k.

He now has a DVT in h is leg, damn it. He won't e able to fly back to Australia for quite sometime. So once he is out of the rehab hospital here we will go up to my sits ers, which is near a hospital etc.

My diet or simply watching what I eat is. On existent because I am having to stay in a hotel.

Oh Joy, I'm so sorry to hear this, how hard it must be for both of you being so far from home. On the plus side, glad to hear he is doing well. Your food plan will have to revolve around what is available but don't forget that taking care of yourself during times like this is very important too as you need to be strong for him.

My thoughts and prayers are coming your way, please keep us posted as to how you are doing.

    Hugs and prayers.

Joy, I'm glad that you came and posted. I have been praying for Simon and you. (I even sent him a card and you a card.)
I would not worry about your weight or exercise right now since they can't be your first priority. I am still praying for Simon and you.

I was finally able to get the third walk in today. I even had Tom do eyedrops before he left for the day. .

    Have a good day everyone!!

Joy, sorry to hear about your Hubby's stroke, but thankfully it wasn't that bad of one. Tell him to take care of himself, and you take care of yourself too. Not really a time to be too worried about eating, as long as you aren't eating fatty foods all the time.

Bonnie, that is the way I am feeling about this weekend. Was too stressful. I am ready to call it quits in hosting or being apart of anything to do with hubby's family.

Laury, good for you keeping up your walks and eye drops.

Jac, hope you enjoyed your break after the craziness of family.

Me, well my weekend almost made me throw in the towel. Sunday we ended up harvesting the garden all morning, well me and the kids, hubby had to go searching for his older brother who didn't come home from hunting. They got back here about 10 to pick up another tire for the truck BIL was using for hunting.

Took about 3 hours to harvest the garden, but we got a good haul out of it. Better than what I was expecting, tons of carrots because the kids didn't eat any this summer because they were put in too late. After harvesting I came in made lunch, the kids scrubbed carrots on the back lawn (took them until almost 3, but they were playing, arguing, just being kids avoiding work, but they got it done) while I pulled a pie from the freezer and baked it, then made 3 dozen Zucchini Muffins, was peeling carrots for Carrot Cake and Muffins when hubby called and said that his brother's GF shouldn't be too much longer. So I put those aside for taking to dinner.

She got here after 4 and we had to drive up to FIL's, cook dinner up there (Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, Apple Pie and Ice Cream), took forever. We didn't get to eat until after 7. Well we called dinner and FIL sat down, served himself and started eating while I was throwing something together for a dressing for the salad. Well that started an argument between him and BIL, about rudeness. And well dinner wasn't too pleasant. We almost left. So many disguised insults being thrown around.

Then Monday MIL came down to have Turkey Dinner, didn't give us a time that she was going to get here, and didn't say she needed to leave early either. So I didn't start it until she got her, about 2. Well she had to leave by 4. Thankfully I have a roaster oven that cooks faster than a regular oven and it was only a 10 lb turkey. For once dinner was going well, without her putting down FIL or whining about her current husband, or family members. Until near the end of dinner, hubby commented that this dinner was better than the one at FIL's and of course told her about what happened, and of course she started the insults. I just got up and started putting things away.

I really don't know what the whole family's obsession with the extreme widow's peak my hubby's hair line has, all his family comments that he must be losing his hair, well it looks the same to me, I have been with him basically everyday for the last 11 years, just the hairdresser keeps cutting it shorter so it looks more pronounced. Heck his older brother has the same but since his hair is cut shorter and is combed forward you can't see it as much.

Joy, is Simon your husband? I am so sorry you are going through this. Like Laury said don't worry about your food an exercise right now, but then try not to eat because of stress. I am sure you are getting plenty of exercise just walking back an forth helping Simon. Wish I was closer so I could help you out.

Bonnie, left you a note in gadgets about a crock pot.

tsab and Laury hope all is well with you all, too.

Forgot to add, I haven't used my elliptical as of yet, I did get on it and try it out after I put it together for a couple minutes. But I was tired Saturday from shopping and putting it together. Then Sunday between harvesting and dinner I had no time. Then Monday, I was tired, then dinner.

I am going to try a little later. Had a big leftover dinner, so gotta let that settle.
