I realized I had the same recipe in two cookbooks. What I'd really like is when I go to add it to a cookbook it tells me somehow that it is is already in cookbook x. Not to say I don't want some in two books, but . ..
Help?
Buzy At the current time, there is no index capability for custom cookbooks, Buzy.

I do a version of that with my big fat binders of recipes. An untried recipe is put in without protection. Anything I've tried and liked enough to make again gets a plastic protective sleeve on it.

I went to costo and got all whit binders, size
needed. I than wrote the binders name in block size
print going down or some times two items on photo paper
The paper was stiff so slipped right in the name front
Each binder has a pocket on each side I put all the recipes to be tried there.
They look so elegant on my
shelves and always right there when I need them.

Hover your cursor over the blue box to the right of your icon. Go to the left hand column and the very last link on that list is All My Cookbooks - click that.
When the page opens, at the very top it will say Robert Downes's cookbooks. Right underneath that should be Reorder My Cookbooks. Click that link. Then when you are done, click the I'm Done Reordering button at the bottom of the screen.

Sure - open up a page from your main cookbook - not a recipe but a page listing a lot of recipes. At the left hand edge you wiill see a checkbox labeled Select. Pick the recipes on that page that you want to go into a new cookbook - then scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Add to Cookbook button - this will give you a list of your existing cookbooks or allow you to create a new one. Select of create, and the recipes will be copied to the new cookbook.
You can then hit the delete button to remove from your main cookbook
