macaulay street primary grimsby recipe

Hi I am looking for a recipe from 1966/1967 my partner is always reflecting on some 45 odd years later! He said it was served in tins at lunch time. He cannot remember if it was served hot or cold but it was served with custard. He says it was chocolaty and crunchy and to get it from the tins it was very hard to cut out. He is practically 'yearning' for it again!
With no surviving parents or grandparents he cannot ask family. Does anyone possibly know of this or have grandparents they know went they who might know what it is and provide the recipe. A query elsewhere suggested it was cornflake cake and or make with some type of biscuit instead but this doesnt sound right to him. Maybe it was just the way it was cooked.

it sounds like a no bake biscuit cake which was well documented as Prince William's favourite cake and was presented to him at the Royal wedding earlier this year. I do have some friends from Grimsby that I might see on 2 sept when their's and my lad go back to college, so I'll see if it rings any bells. Just a little bit more info, this is the name of a school in Grimsby and a primary school is from 5 to 11 years here in England. I bet this is something he had at school dinners.

thanks for the reply, any help would be appreciated so hope someone might have an idea. Yes it was something served at his school dinners but it was such a long time ago. He was 11 when he came here so guess it was in primary.
