When changes are about to be made

A number of people have been mentioning this in the other forums.

When there's a significant change to be made, such as yesterday's replacement of the toolbar, it would be helpful to put some kind of notification on the home page, or somewhere where it could be easily seen.

I know that there was an announcement in the Customer Support forum, but most members don't visit that forum unless they have a problem. Yesterday's changes took a lot of people by surprise. I think it would be in the site's best interests to give people a little more visible warning of such things.

I was reminded of this topic when the Menu Planner suddenly appeared. Why not at least add an announcement or blurb in the weekly email newsletter that I never remember to unsubscribe to as it is pretty much useless.
