Vitamix ordered, what do you use yours for?

I dont have one but from what I heard I think you could make almost any regular recipe in the Vitamix.

Just got the variable speed Vitamix Creations II from QVC. Mainly to make fancy coffee drinks (like Starbuck's copycat recipes), smoothies, malts, etc. Maybe some soups.

Not into tofu/agave/spinach/vital wheat gluten smoothies.

I want to be the one that makes the most un-healthy things in my Vitamix.

I just bought a 64 oz and 32 oz container each with a new-style two-piece lid, but no blades, for about $ 35.00 each at Amazon.

My Vitamix came with a 48 oz container and a wet blade (from QVC). I will probably get a dry blade and an ice blade for the new containers. I've seen the blades priced at about $50 to $75 each.

I wanted one of each size container and will probably dedicate one for food, one for drinks and one for dry foods.

The new containers (like the 48 oz ) are made of the new Tritan Copolyester - BPA free material.

A word of caution. The wet blades that come with the 48oz container in the Vitamix Creations II from QVC will not work with the 64 oz Tritan Copolyester container. The 48 oz wet blade set has a sprocket that is about 1/4 inch too tall for the 64 oz container. When installed in the 64 oz container, it sits on top of the blender base and rocks on the sprocket with the container base 1/4 inch in the air.

The standard wet and dry blades do work with the 64 oz container and it fits properly on the Creations II base.

So if you buy a 64 oz container without blades, you cannot use the 48 oz blade set in it. You have to buy a set of standard blades for it (wet or dry).

This same problem has been reported in several customer reviews of the 64 oz no-blade container at Amazon, when they also tried to use the 48 oz blade set in the 64 oz container.

Excellent info, WTB. It can be SO irritating when companies either don't think things through, or simply do those things in order to force us to buy more pieces of their equipment.

I hear ya about wanting to make the most unhealthy things in the VM! I'm not a smoothie lover (definitely not the green ones!), except when I can make it with a base of pineapple sherbet.

Blender Moccacino

1 cup Half & Half**
1 cup International Delight French Vanilla Non-Dairy Creamer (liquid creamer)
1/3 cup Nonfat Dry Milk Powder
4 oz (1/2 cup) Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa Mix, milk chocolate flavor (dry powder)
1/4 cup of instant coffee crystals (or powder)
1 (0.80 oz) Vanilla Jello Singles Pudding packet (dry powder)**
2 cups ice cubes

Blend on high 30 to 45 seconds or until smooth.

Makes about 48 oz.

**I've substituted 2% milk for the half & half and an individual Jello Pudding Cup (already prepared pudding) for the pudding powder. The Moccacino still turns out great.

I've submitted it. The hard part was trying to get the recipe software to recognize all of those pre-mixed ingredients.

Oh, I know! The pre-made foods can be a total pain to get listed. Or sometimes where I've seen recipe intros noting non-food items that are used to make the recipe, but aren't accepted in the ingredient list.

Thanks for posting the mochaccino recipe. I added it to my beverage cookbook and to my current shopping list. I'd like to try it out while it's so hot outside and we're spending all our time in the pool. It's a tiny bit hard to drink hot coffee in 100° weather.

Most of the time my Vitamix is a super blender.

However, when I need to puree a soup, the food processor isn't big enough, the stick is messy, but the VM takes it all and gets the job done!

Just don't try to "juice" with your VM. A VM mixes all the pulp with the juice, and REQUIRES additional liquid. I like to eat the pulp of my fruit for cholesterol-fighting purposes. However, people with impaired liver function do best with pure juices (NO FIBER) so that the nutrients have a better chance of being absorbed by the body; for that you need a juicer that can handle your diet. (If a juicer interests you, research the different types on the internet.)

Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino

Here's a sugar free, non-dairy version.
About 110 calories per 12 oz.

1 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
1/2 cup Coffee Mate French Vanilla Creamer - sugar free (liquid creamer)1/3 cup powdered non-dairy coffee creamer
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 Tbsp instant coffee crystals
1 (3.25 oz) Jello Vanilla Pudding Snack Pack (prepared pudding cup) - sugar free
2 cups ice cubes

Blend on HIGH for 45-seconds or until smooth. Makes about. 48 oz.

The Jello pudding cup makes a thick, rich, low calorie Frappuccino.

That looks really good! Do you have it posted here so I can put it in my menu, shopping list, and cookbook? I totally want to try it and may have everything on hand except the almond milk.
