My son in law recently went to China on business, and his host gave him a present when he left for home
It was 2 jars of something, enclosed in a cardboard packet. No other writing on it but Chinese. He didnt have a clue what was in the jars, but the tiny picture shows it being served on top of rice.
They waited till I came to visit, (they were not game to try it alone icon_smile.gif
    Well, it tastes
    brilliant!
I THINK it is little chunks of pickled mushroom, with added spices, it has a little heat, and heaps of taste!
The labels make me think it is something readily available over there, but if it is available here, I need to know what it is icon_smile.gif
    anyone have any ideas?

I lived in China for a few years, and all kinds of condiments and pickles are in jars, making a really nice gift. I don't read Chinese, so I can't be of any help. Perhaps you can find someone in your community who reads Chinese and can understand what's in the jar. Or, there may be someone in this community who can translate if we have a photo.

    Hi mumma and Rose
I 'chased' the url on the back of the label, and asked for a translation. I think the top one is
Spicy mushroom sauce - made with a large grain of mushrooms, beans, peppers and other. Spicy enjoy, appetizer better capsules mushrooms, chewy.
