Hey, so I submitted a recipe because I saw it on YouTube and wanted to write it down with small changes for reference. It was just for personal reference, but then I noticed that no one had a similar recipe on the site, so I submitted it as public in order for others to see. I guess I missed wherever it said recipes have to be approved, but it should only take a day or two, right? So say the recipe isn't approved because it's not mine. Do I get a notice saying it wasn't approved? Do I get the recipe back so I can use it privately instead? I spent quite a while typing it up and making sure it was perfect and personalized. I also did not copy and save it somewhere else. Even if it isn't approved for public viewing, I would still like to use it privately.
Welcome to the forums, NC. It's very nice to meet you!

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR DELICIOUS RECIPE for some great tips and hints.
When one submits a recipe to be published in the public db, it goes into an editorial approval queue. Depending upon the day of the week you submit your recipe and how many recipes there are in the approval queue, it might take several days.
The public database is updated throughout the day (M-F, excluding US holidays) and you will receive an email notifying you if/when your recipe is available to the public. If you receive a denial for some reason, the email will let you know why.
To check on the approval progress, click on your chef name at the top of the page to get to your About Me page, then TRACK MY SUBMISSIONS:
If you elected to keep the recipe private for personal use only, you can access it by hovering your cursor over RECIPES in the red bar at the top of the page, then clicking on MY PRIVATE RECIPES.
