My new years resolution this year was to spend more face time with family and friends. We now host a monthly (Last Saturday) dinner at our house and invite pretty much everyone we know in the area. It's been a great success and I spend more time with these great people between events because we plan to get together while they are here. The guest count has tapered off to about 20 people each Saturday and if I share a theme some guests like to bring a dish to share.
That is the background, here is the question. What themes can you suggest for the dinners? We have done Italian, Spanish Tapas, breakfast and one full on potluck.

We have numerous cuisine categories here, Kanzeda. I have nearly 200 menus for nearly every area in the US from New England to West Coast and the Upper Midwest to the Gulf Coast. Click on :
MY MENUS for some inspiration.
What about an African-inspired menu:
Kwanzaa ~ The First Fruits
Chinese:
P. F. Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Egg Drop Soup
Oriental Chicken Salad with Crunchy Ramen Noodles
Bourbon Chicken
Chinese Fried Rice
Scallion Cake
Cantaloupe With Honey Ginger Dressing
Chinese Almond Cookies
Thai:
Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce
Thai Style Butternut Squash Soup
My O My.. Best Thai Beef Salad Ever!
Broiled Tilapia With Thai Coconut- Curry Sauce
Kao Pad (Thai-Style Fried Rice)
Thai Noodles With Spicy Peanut Sauce
Thai Coconut Pudding/ Custard
Use the recipe sifter for other cuisines/courses...I can see Indian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, English, French, Portugese, Italian, Greek, Swedish, Eastern European, German, Mexican, Hawaiian, Cuban, and South American all working brilliantly for great meals for gatherings.

What did you decide on? Did you do a specific cuisine?
