    Thought my sis daft, but, last year I began using her technique w/sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc..

    After opening, store the container UPSIDE DOWN (use paper towels underneath as these items can leak a bit) .. you can double/triple their lifespan in your cold fridge!

    And, it works!

    Oh I've done this for years - turning it upside down keeps air from getting to it, which is what causes it to spoil.
