I have an allergy to wheat, beef and milk/milk byproducts. My main problem with my new dietary restrictions comes around during snack time or celebrations. I can't injest any of the deserts most people can have at any time. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of some recepies that could help me out with this.

I found that oatmeal-raisin cookies are close to working but i can't find a recipie that dosn't call for all-purpose flour...

Any input would be greatly appritiated icon_smile.gif

Having allergies calls for thinking outside the box. try this one on for size. Citrus Compote With Honey and Golden Raisins. This is a great example of using a healthier alternative to the common dessert.

I have a problem with sugar too. Sometimes a herbal tea with stevia with help the cravings. If I must have dessert, I try to adjust a recipe by substituting what I can't have (dairy/beef) with ingredients I can have (soymilk for milk, Earth Balance margarine for margarine...it is dairy-free). Sometimes, a good piece of fruit will do...love watermelon, pomegranates, pears, sweet plums) If you can't have dairy, godairyfree.com is good. They have a list of hidden dairy to watch in the indredients of food.

    Good luck

I am not sure about allergies but I will say if you can go low carb you will eventually get to where you do not crave sweets at all. I know for myself if I eat a bunch of junk then it just leads to more eating of junk and I have to do what I call a carb cleanse and just go for about 3 days with very little carbs, only in veggies and soon I will no longer crave the sweeter items.

Have you seen oat flour? I think you could use it in your cookies and it would perfectly replace the a.p. flour
