Will not try to use this sight again very difficult to send a recipe to a friend Not sure why the security when no money is involved

Because people have been using the email recipe function to send spam.

Some people find it easier to just copy the recipe and paste it into their regular email program and sending the recipe out that way. That might be the solution for you. I sometimes do it just to avoid having to look up and type in an email address that I have readily available in my usual email.
