Hi all. Hoping to harness your collective wisdom. I'm not really a collector but I bought a pot from a charity shop cos it looked quirky- its quite small and brown. The interesting thing is that you can either put the lid on as per normal (and it looks like an ordinary teapot) or you can insert what is a cup-sized additional part (in the same brown glaze) which has a kind of filter/sieve at the bottom (also made of pottery). The lid then fits on top of the additional part. I'm wondering if the additional part is to filter coffee? Can anyone give me any pointers? Thanks Ceri

This sounds like a teapot I bought many years ago - I cannot find the filter insert, but use it with a tea ball now.

Would it be possible for you to post a photo of it?

Hello. Thanks for the interest. I'm hoping I can upload a photo. I love it whatever it is.
This is the link, I think.

Thanks for the tutorial. So, what does your pot look like? Any idea what my specimen does look like? I'm essentially wondering what the extra appendage is for? Thanks. Ceri
