Hey sorry I've been missing for a while but life happens ya know. icon_sad.gif icon_smile.gif

I made two purchases today. My first purchase is a new induction Zojirushi rice cooker. I can't want to try cooking both Japanese white and brown rice in it. I've had my old rice cooker now for almost 15+ years and sad to try something new since it was given to me by my late mother, but more I read the reviews on these new induction rice cookers, I figured I don't have enough years left to wait icon_biggrin.gif . It supposes to make fabulous brown rice and gaba.

My second purchase was from Korin - it's a traditional yakitori grill. I can't wait to try this too. It looks like this (medium one) http://korin.com/Shop/Grills-and-Charcoals_2. I did not buy the binchotan - maybe later.

That thing is VERY cool, I will have one by the end of the month! Maybe 2. What a great winter party - cook your own yakitori indoors. That thing will lead to many great conversations. And those beers will make it that much better!!!! icon_wink.gif

That looks great, but I think you have to use it outdoors, as charcoal cannot be used inside.

My Zo rice cooker is older, before there was GABA or we knew of it or whatever, but I love it and would replace it if it broke. Best nonstick interior ever! Just used it for my breakfast oatmeal this morning.

I thought it was electric, but definitely can't have a charcoal fire inside.

By the time I come back from japan it is bbq season here in northern California. I've asked my husband to build me a stand for this grill. It is perfect height for yakitori grilling. Need to use binchotan (coal like wood or coal) for this. I'll make sure I'll take some photos when in use. With a cold beer of course. icon_biggrin.gif
