That's the same way we always make it and I love the white one. When I came here to the US and asked for asparagus, my hsband automatically thought of green one and had never even tried the white one icon_eek.gif

It is surprising how different the green and whitye taste. I was also surprised, bu how popular the green has become in Germany and Austria. wave.gif

White and green asparagus are running between $1.98 and $2.98 US per pound (450gr). Most coming from California right now. When we lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, towards the end of April local farm trucks would roll into several shopping center parking lots and we could buy right off the truck, cut that morning for $1.00 a pound. icon_smile.gif I'd make my husbands favorite "Cream of Asparagus Soup" and freeze it.wave.gif
