Do you make your own or do you purchase pre-made? If you make your own, do you use a coffee bean grinder? If you purchase, from whom and what do you pay?

I've never worked with almond meal, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I get mine from Country Life Natural Foods. It costs less than buying almonds and grinding them. And you don't have to take the skins off! That was the biggest pain in grinding. I used a blender when I tried grinding it. It works fine.

I have used Bob's Red Mill Almond Meal in the past, and liked it.

Then I found Blanched Almond Flour at www.nuts.online. I think the price was comparible to Bob's, and the texture is much better.

I love baking with the blanched almond flour as you get that wonderful flavor in everything by using it. I highly recommend it.

I found out about it from the book, "The Gluten-Free Almond Flour Cookbook" by Elena Amsterdam ~ she is also a member here at Zaar, which I didn't know until after I had read her book ~ Elana's Pantry #730126 ~ and on her website she does a nice explanation of almond flour and her sources for it {also where I found mine} http://www.elanaspantry.com/why-almond-flour/
