    Last night's German Dinner......

    Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:43 pm Groupie
Last night I made a German meal for the family -- Steve's been talking about German food a while. The menu included Bacon Onion Spaetzle, and Jagerschnitzel. I rounded out the meal with sweet and sour sauteed cabbage with caraway. All I can say is WOW do we have some good cooks on Zaar......these have been added to my 'will cook again' book. This was just what the doctor ordered when seeking good German food!

That sounds good. If you want to try something similar that's even creamier and more comforting try my Geschnetzeltes .
I guess Jägerschnitzel is a bit healthier, not as much fat.

Sounds delicious. We had Gulasch today. Made too much as always, but it freezes well.

These all sound wonderful. My ds has been begging me to make some Paprikash for a while or ready. I think I am overdue. Only thing is he can't ever make up his mind between potatoes or Spaetzel. Such decisions..LOL All I know is fresh bread to dunk is the way to make it the best comfort food.
