What subjects do you cover in Emergency Food/Supplies?
The topics covered in Emergency Food/Supplies are ones that have to do with preparing for emergency situations/disasters...be they natural or man-made. Some of the topics may include but will not be limited to:

Assembling 72-hour kits (a kit that will help sustain you for 3 days).

Long-term storage of food that will not require refrigeration or freezing.

Recipes to use for some of the foods you may have in storage.

Hints and tips that will help you get through the tough times.

Assembling a quality first aid kit.
What subjects do you not cover in Emergency Food/Supplies?
We really don't cover the day-to-day storage of foods...for example: whether or not you can freeze artichokes, or if it's possible to make rhubarb-orange jam is really not in the scope of what we cover. There are some wonderful forums on 'Zaar that are more suitable to those type of subjects...specifically,
Cooking on a Budget: OAMC, Make Ahead, Freezing & More is a great resource for anything frozen, and
Canning, Preserves, Dehydrating for things that are canned or dehydrated. Both of these forums have some incredible contributors that total hundreds upon hundreds (if not thousands upon thousands!) of man-hours of experience. You will be far likelier to get a rapid response to a freezing/canning question in one of those threads.
How do I post a new thread?
1. Go to the main thread page in the forum where you want to post a message.
2. Right above where all the thread titles are, there is a button that says "New Topic".
3. Press the "New Topic" button and it will take you to a screen that looks a lot like a reply screen.
4. Because it's a new thread, you need to create a new title. Above where you type the body of your post, there is a narrow, blank field. Type the title you want; this will be seen from the main thread page of the forum you're in.
5. Type your message, then click on the "Post" button. If you want to see what it looks like before you post it, you can click on the "Preview" button.
6. You can go back and edit your original post; you can also edit the title of your thread.
How can I make a link that others can click on?
1. The format for a hyperlink is as follows: (url=www.recipezaar.com)Link(/url) EXCEPT, replace ( ) with [ ]. I've used parentheses instead of brackets so you can see the formatting I'm using.
2. Type (url=)Link(/url) where you want the link.
3. Go to the web page you want to refer people to.
4. Highlight the link's location (click and hold your left mouse button down).
5. Copy the link's location (hold Ctrl, then press C) from the internet address bar.
6. Go back to the hyperlink format and paste (hold Ctrl, then press V) the address in between the equal sign "=" and the first right bracket (parentheses, for tutorial purposes).
