I was able to cook great cakes and Jams ect when I lived in N.Ireland but since I have relocated to Turkey The cakes are dry and less sweet and the Jam does not set
Is the sugar different and what can I do to fix the problems?
Hope someone can help my reputation and confidence as a cook are ebbing away!!!!!

When we were in Algeria last year, they had a different kind of salt, it was far less salty than our salt here in Germany... icon_eek.gif
Maybe you could try to buy some kind of "european" sugar? Or double the amount?
