celebrate midwinter/solstice and what foods do you make?
I found:
Winter Solstice: Winter Solstice has been celebrated in cultures the world over for thousands of years. This start of the solar year is a celebration of Light and the rebirth of the Sun.
Eid-Ul-Adha: a Muslim holiday beginning on the tenth day of the Islamic month, the month of Hajj (December 31, 2006 ). The first 10 days of the month are special times of religious prayer and recitation. Then, on the tenth day the four day holiday of Eid-Ul-Adha begins. It is a time for prayer and sacrificing, but not a time for fasting.
Birth of Guru Gobind Singh Ji (January 5, 2007): This day celebrates the birth of the Sikhs' tenth great master and teacher.

Hi Ms Molly
In the Mideast we don't have any seasonal celebrations. We have 2 religious festivals cuz we follow the luner calander here that means no month is fixed and they fall at diffrent times each year . For the last few years Eid-Ul-Adha has been falling in the winter months but it would'nt always be like this eventually it will be in the summer.
For Eid-Ul-Adha peopple usualy make many diffrent meat dishes .
Hope I make sence.
