    canned soup alternates?

Many crockpot recipes seem to use canned soup. There's one in particular I'd like to try (recipe #21771) that calls for cream of chicken soup.

We've got some food sensitivities in the household, and generally I try to stay away from canned foods because they often cause problems. Anybody have suggestions on substitutes?

You could make your own quick cream of something soup to substitute, or a basic white sauce might work as well.

There are a couple of recipes on this site for cream soup substitutes. Haven't tried them out but recipe #18157 has a bunch of 5 star reviews.

Thanks, that recipe looks just right. Should have thought to look for it.
